Interactive Discussion Questions (IDQs)

Sagence Learning has developed Interaction Discussion Questions (IDQs) to enable instructors to engage students directly in private, one-to-one conversations specific to embedded content within learning activities.

Why Is It Important?

Faculty-Student Substantive Interaction is a key criteria evaluated by accrediting agencies and the Department of Education. IDQs allow our partners to promote and manage regular and substantive interactions that help students persist and succeed in their programs. This key component of learning engagement is measurable by our CBE specific data analytic tools for student level, program level and compliance uses.

How Does it Work?

Faculty and instructional designers can plan out and embed interactions as they develop content. By planning ahead, institutions can ensure that substantive interaction opportunities revolve around critical aspects of content and are truly "regular".

- All interactions appear inline for context-based discussions
- Keep students engaged in the content and add a personal touch
- Keep curriculum relevant- Edit IDQs in published learning modules in real time allowing curriculum to respond to current events, case studies, new developments and more.

Interactions and content go hand in hand. Faculty can plan their initial interactions with students in Compose, our authoring tool, and have individualized conversations based off of each student's response. All action items are easy to find for faster response times.

Since IDQs are embedded in learning activities we are able to produce analytics around faculty and student exchanges allowing faculty and coaches to see the impact teaching has on student outcomes and make future adjustments based on learning trends.
