Central New Mexico Community College Partners with Sagence Learning to Launch First CBE Offerings

November 4, 2016

Programs are Designed to Provide High-Quality, Affordable Education Leading to Degree Completion and Career Advancement

Brooklyn, NY, Washington, DC – November 4, 2016 -- Sagence Learning, Inc. the leading provider of competency-based technology designed to empower colleges and universities to provide flexible, learner-directed, affordable education, today announced a partnership with Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). CNM joins other innovative institutions already deploying Sagence Learning technology to enable higher education institutions to close the education and workplace divide.

"For more than 50 years, we have built a strong reputation in the community for providing high-quality, affordable instruction that has prepared countless people for rewarding careers in the community,” said Kalynn Pirkl, CNM Associate Dean in the School of Business & Information Technology. “We’re looking forward to working with Sagence Learning in our efforts to establish a high-quality CBE program that prepares students for success in their learning objectives and for success in the workplace when they graduate.”

CNM students enrolled in the program will utilize Sagence Learning’s Cognify platform for a content-rich learning experience fully integrated with CNM’s existing learning management system.  Powered by Sagence Learning’s Certify technology, faculty will utilize dashboard metrics to facilitate student academic progress.  Coaches will have access to a distinct set of analytics designed to help support students as they navigate the work/life/education balance.

"It is time we bridge the gap between education and the workplace. Our integrated CBE technology platform enables colleges to design and build programs aligned with demonstrable skill measurement leading to degree completion and career alignment", said Jade Roth, Sagence Learning, Inc.’s  Chief Executive Officer.  “This approach is well aligned to CNM's goal of ensuring learning and support that promotes student persistence in achievement of education and workplace goals.”

CNM anticipates a Winter 2017 launch for their new competency-based program.
